There were a total of 12,867 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 6,312 were male, 6,555 female and 0 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 12,048 registered voters, of which 6,312 were male, 6,000 female and 0 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 10,080 registered voters in this constituency, of which 5,130 were male, 4,950 female and 0 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 8,113 which included 4,202 male, and 3,911 female.

The number of service voters in Assembly constituency was 62 in 2019, 27 in 2014 and 18 in 2009.

In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Dorjee Tshering Lepcha of SDF won in this constituency beating Tshering Bhutia of SKM by a margin of 2,920 votes which was 28.82% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dorjee Tsh Lepcha of SDF was the winner in this seat beating Sonam Dorjee of SKM by a margin of 1,916 votes which was 22.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, L M Lepcha of SDF won this seat defeating Chhopel Dzongpo Bhutia of SHRP by a margin of 2,400 votes which was 34.49% of the total votes polled for the seat.
