Kanjirappally Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kottayam district in the Travancore region of Kerala: Chirakkadavu, Kanjirappally and Manimala Panchayats in Kanjirappilly taluk and Kangazha, Karukachal, Nedumkunnam, Vazhoor and Vellavoor Panchayats in Changanassery Taluk and Pallikkathode Panchayat in Kottayam Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 301 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kanjirappally is: 9°31'42.6"N 76°44'03.8"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 72.13%, while it was 76.4% in 2016, and 70.01% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Dr N Jayaraj of KCM won in this constituency beating Joseph Vazhackan of INC by a margin of 13703 votes which was 10% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dr. N Jayaraj of KCM was the winner in this seat beating Adv. V B Binu of CPI by a margin of 3890 votes which was 2.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr. N.Jayaraj of KCM won this seat defeating Adv. Suresh.T.Nair of CPI by a margin of 12206 votes which was 10.79% of the total votes polled for the seat.
