However, because of only one contesting candidate in this constituency, voting was not necessary for this seat and the candidate was declared the unopposed winner.

In the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, Pema Khandu of BJP won in this constituency beating Thupten Kunphen of INC by a margin of 2,619 votes which was 43.05% of the total votes cast.
